The weather is still hot, but we’re cooling it down with some indoor activities for you to partake in. From Mezcal tastings to roller disco, there is plenty to do without having to leave the A/C.
Below, a round-up of our top things to do this week to avoid the heat:
Summon Your Inner Golden Girl (or Boy) at Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club
Royal Palms is a walk-in shuffleboard club, no planning necessary! Grab your friends and spend the day shufflin’ with tropical cocktails in hand. Courts are $40 on a first come, first serve basis and there are food trucks, DJs and other board games to play. Must be 21 or older.

Head to Mexico…in Brooklyn
The eccentric House of Yes is hosting an epic Mezcal tasting in partnership with Mezcalistas, dubbed Mexico in a Bottle. Celebrate Mexican independence day with over 100 varieties of Mezcal. Pair your drinks with bites from local restaurants and embrace the 500 years of culture Mezcal has culminated. Learn more through their video and snag tickets before it sells out!

Dust Off Those Roller Blades and Get Your Roll On at a Pop-Up Roller Disco Party
Embrace your inner child and skate, dance and drink with world-renowned DJs in the Union Square Ballroom. Costumes are encouraged, so break out those headbands and shoulder pads. Rental skates are first come, first serve.
Friday September 14th, Saturday September 15th in two sessions: 7 PM & 11 PM
Visit a Museum That’s Not the Met or MoMA
Yes, it’s hot and the go-to escape from the humidity is typically a visit to the museum. Avoid the usual suspects, and expand your art knowledge at the Museum of Moving Images. This museum is an ode to the history, technique and technology of digital media via curated exhibitions.
